Sight Fishing!? It takes time, dude!

Just before Jun Nomoto decided to become a pro angler, he practiced his techniques on Lake Ashinoko. Since that time, he's not fished here; it's been 10 years. Well, I recall he said on the phone,
"I'll make sure you catch bass. Trust me. Guaranteed."
But dude, you haven't fished here for the last 10 years. In addition, when a guy says "guaranteed," he is not really trusted. Well, then.
Jun picked a pitching rod and said,
"I think you need some bass photos for basswave.jp, so I'll make sure to catch some here. Is it OK?" There was no problem with that, but
"I'll fish the beds first. I'm good at sight fishing."
Beds! Sight fishing! Bass on the nests are really unpredictable. Sometimes, you catch a nesting bass in a minute, but it may take an hour. Plus, my wife is not used to this sorta method. I thought she'd get bored pretty quick... But she bought some new baits before she came here, so she changed them often and looked having fun.

We searched for beds, and there came a good looking bed with a one pound bass cruising around it. Jun switched his lure from Shadrap Rapala to his original hand-tied jig and started pitching it to the nest. It took almost 30 minutes to let her bite, but he caught today's first bass.
"First off, bass just ignore it or chance it down. But they get disturbed and get angry soon. And I can tell whether they are now upset or not. Once they get upset, it's a matter of time to let them bite," he said.

Well, I photographed the bass and satisfied with it, and I thought we get back to a regular fishing. But Jun goes,
"I think I can catch a bit larger fish. Let's find another bed." We went to find other beds.
Approx. 2 hours later, we found a bed. But this time he only took 5 minutes to catch the bass.
My wife was looking at this fishing method and liked it so much. Then, Jun started teaching her sight fishing. But then, this beginner of the sight fishing set the hook and a 2 pounder was breaking the surface. I was changing the film of my camera at the moment. When I said, "I'm ready", but the fish broke the line.
Needless to say, she bitched about it until we got home. My fault?
