BASS BUSCH Shootout Rescheduled

¡¡MONTGOMERY, Ala. - BASS, the worldwide authority on bass fishing, and Anheuser-Busch have rescheduled the 2004 Busch Shootout, which was postponed from its Sept. 18 date because of Hurricane Ivan.

The Shootout will take place Oct. 30 on a mystery lake, where 13 anglers will compete for the $100,000 winner¡Çs purse.

The 13 anglers include the pros with the heaviest single-day weights at the 10 stops of the CITGO Bassmaster Tournament Trail presented by Busch Beer (Tour and Elite 50), the heaviest single-day weight at the CITGO Bassmaster Open Championship, the CITGO BASS Federation Championship and the CITGO Bassmaster Classic.

The Tour and Elite 50 qualifiers include Kelly Jordon of Mineola, Texas (32 pounds, 2 ounces); Mark Rogers of Naples, Fla. (31-3); George Cochran of Hot Springs, Ark. (29-15); Stacy King of Reeds Springs, Mo. (28-2); David Wharton of Sam Rayburn, Texas (26-7); Kevin VanDam of Kalamazoo, Mich. (26-3); Jason Quinn of Lake Wylie, S.C. (24-14); Bink Desaro of Boise, Idaho (24-5); Denny Brauer of Camdenton, Mo. (23-12); and Ben Matsubu of Hemphill, Texas (23-10). John Murray of Phoenix, Ariz. (21-0) had the heaviest catch in the Open Championship, while Takahiro Omori of Emory, Texas (16-2) took the honors at the Classic and Thad Takes of Center Point, Iowa (14-12) qualified from the Federation Championship.

The tournament will be telecast on ESPN2 Sunday, Nov. 6 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. ET.
